About this fund
Julian Yan Wehde (2003-2020) was an individual who was special to the core Founders of Do Something Already. He was a young man bursting with creativity. He had a special sense of humor. He was a young member of our community who volunteered for Pride activities with his family for years. Julian was a valued student and participant at the Metropolitan Performing Arts (Vancouver/Portland area). His time spent immersing himself in the Arts was some of his happiest, and where you really saw that sparkle that was so special to him. Julian exuded inspiration and acceptance.
This Memorial Fund seeks to carry on Julian’s legacy through the lives of LGBTQIA Youth Artists who may not have the funds or support they need to pursue their Art. It is through their works that those that loved and were touched by Julian will take great Pride for years to come.
Recipients of this award can use the funds for: supplies for official projects, payment towards tuition or books for furthering education, etc. The financial portion is just the start. Do Something Already also has some power players in the Arts and Music Industry in the PNW – recipients will also have access to mentoring and assistance from these individuals.
